New Year, New Beginnings?

So, here's to a new year starting. The world didn't expire, so all of my accountability for what I did during the holidays still stands!

This year I decided NOT to set New Year's Resolutions as I know that sometimes the fabric of life can interfere with some of the most resolutely made plans. Instead I have decided to set some very achievable and measurable goals for myself. One of which includes this blog.

Yes, I know I've only had one previous post, but the idea of doing this on a regular basis resonated with me all through the holidays, so here I am again. This time, I am going to say that realistically I will update this once every 1-2 weeks. That give me some wiggle room to keep it going even if life is getting in the way. If I can do it more often than that, great!

So, some of my other goals include:

 - participating in my first Triathlon by the end of 2013
 - meeting my weight loss goal (150 was my original goal set at the beginning of this journey) by the end of April 2013
 - organizing my home/paperwork/photos by September of 2013

So, hopefully I'll be able to have made a measurable indent in all of these and meet those goals by the target timelines.

In addition I am participating in another transformation challenge thanks to Allison Dawson of Encore Fitness and Sport. This will be running from February 4th to May 5th. I hope to utilize this blog with that competition and provide any information that I've learned along the way to other people participating.

So, here's my tip for the day. Water...water is your friend. There is no more perfect way to replenish, restore and re-hydrate your body. Trust me when I say I know what it's like to walk away from the juices, sodas, calorie reduced sweeteners that seem so appealing and market themselves as being helpful in  a weightloss/health improvement journey. There are ways to get that flavor into your water if that's what keeps you drinking it. Lemon slices, lime, orange. I know it seems like more work, but it is work that is worth it and that will get you results and leave you feeling so much better.

Just for measurement purposes I usually drink between 3-4 liters a day. Sometimes more.

So, that's it for now. I will post again as soon as I can.

Hope this post finds everyone in good health and spirits!
